Sign in lives in the site navigation. An already-signed-in visitor is sent straight to the dashboard, and a refused sign-in will show a message explaining why.
Email and password
Sign-in takes the email and password from account setup.
Continue with Google
Where offered, Continue with Google signs in with one click through the standard Google consent. It is also available during invite setup instead of creating a password — there the Google account must match the invited email exactly, and a mismatch returns to the invite with the password option still open.
Two Google notices worth knowing:
- A cancelled or timed-out attempt returns to sign-in with a plain explanation — try again, or use email instead.
- Account not linked — the email already has a polite.ai account whose address was never confirmed, so Google can't attach to it. The notice links to both fixes: confirm the email (below) or set a password first.
Resetting a forgotten password
Forgot? beside the password field takes an email address. If the account exists, a reset link is sent to the email address. The emailed link opens Choose a new password: eight characters or more, with a strength meter and a confirm field. Success lands back at sign-in.
Confirming an email address
Accounts created through an invite link are already verified — the link itself proved the address — so most people never need this. Where confirmation is asked for (typically the account not linked case above), a fresh confirmation link can be requested from the sign-in page's notice. If this doesn't arrive, check your spam folder. If you still don't see it, contact support.
When sign-in says "not yet"
Three amber notices explain refused sign-ins:
- Your account is awaiting approval — the address is on the waitlist and the organisation hasn't been activated yet. Nothing to fix; an email follows on approval.
- Your invite is waiting — the organisation is approved but account setup was never finished. The invite email carries the link; sign-ins stay blocked until then. Lost or expired link?
- Organisation not active yet — the account itself is fine, but the organisation has been created and not activated (or has been deactivated). An administrator has to activate it before the dashboard opens.
